BEGIN A SUBMISSION
Abstract Submission Deadline (Extended):

Information to take note before submission:
- To submit an abstract, you are required to create an account on the NCCM 2024 abstract submission portal and submit the abstract via the account.
- The submitting author is not required to be the first author of the abstract. However, he or she will be required to select the first author where required in the submission portal.
- Upon successful submission, a unique number will be assigned.
- Please ensure the content of abstract(s) are checked prior to submission. No modifications or resubmissions are allowed once the first submission is accepted.
- Author(s) are required to download and complete a Disclosure Form. It is the submitting author’s responsibility to compile and and upload the completed form(s) of all authors via the NCCM 2024 abstract submission portal.
- Please note that no charges will be applied for creating an account to submit an abstract.

Abstract submission deadline (Extended): 30th May 2024 at 11:59 PM MYT
Abstract withdrawal deadline: 10th June 2024 at 11:59 PM MYT
As you prepare your submission, please take note of the following details:
- All submissions should be made in English. All cancer-related abstract(s) will be acceptable for submission and presentation. Case studies and reports with high impact will be considered.
- Abstract(s) should include scientific data, clinical observation(s) or scientific questions relevant to cancer. However, abstracts comprising of areas of social sciences, advocacy or policy, social marketing or advertising, or even successful programme implementation are not subject to the structure of scientific abstracts and will be accepted on their own merit of novelty and innovation.
- Previously presented clinical trial data are allowed if there is any new significant data included.
- Submission of multiple abstracts on a single study may result in the rejection of one or more abstracts.
The first author is responsible for conveying this information to all involved parties.
The First Author Must:
- Agree and give consent to the Confidentiality Policy on behalf of all parties involved with the content of the abstract(s) and data presented.
- Accept responsibility for communicating this policy and relevant information to all involved parties and act as the contact person for all correspondence about the abstract(s).
- Verify that proper informed consent is obtained from the appropriate ethics committee or review board for clinical research reported in the abstracts.
- Agree that all involved parties are aware of the contents of the abstract(s) and related data.
- Agree to hand over the copyright of the abstract to the NCCM 2024 Committee on behalf of all involved parties.
- Agree that if more than one abstract is submitted, the same contact information will be used.
- Agree to provide details of the corresponding author if needed to be contacted by the review committee. Please designate the corresponding author within the abstract submission portal.
NCCM Account:
To submit an abstract, please log in to the NCCM 2024 abstract submission portal. Please note that the submission may be made by any of the co-authors and not necessarily the first author of the abstract. However, the submitting author is required to identify the first author where required. Take note: Upon submission, it is considered that the first author has accepted all NCCM 2024 policies and will be held responsible for any violation of the policies.
Funding Source:
Please indicate the funding source where required.
Abstract Title:
The abstract title should reflect the entire study and not focus solely on the results. Take note: The NCCM 2024 committee reserves the right to edit the title as deemed appropriate.
Co-author(s):
All co-authors’ full names, academic degree(s), institution, address, email address, and disclosure information are required for submission. You may list up to 20 individual authors for each abstract
Disclosure Declaration:
NCCM’s policy, which discloses financial interests and other links and manages any conflicts, aims to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all of its activities.
- Every author must separately disclose any financial sources they have received for the work they have submitted using the Disclosure Form.
- The grant number and the names of the awarding organizations should be included. It also needs to be mentioned if the funder had no involvement in the research.
- The NCCM 2024 Committee is highly committed to protecting and upholding the principles of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The committee will not consider for acceptance any abstracts in which any of the research costs or authors’ salaries have been funded, in whole or in part, by the tobacco and vaping industry.
- All authors should use the Disclosure Form to provide their honest disclosure information
Abstract Body/Table:
The content of the abstract should include background, aims, methods, results, and conclusions of your research. Each abstract is allowed a maximum of 300 words (approximately 1,500 characters). The character count does not include spaces, author names, or institutions. Illustrations, data tables, and figures are not permitted.
Please ensure the abstract does not contain any spelling, grammatical, or scientific errors. No changes are allowed upon submission, and no proofreading will be done. The abstract will be published exactly as submitted. Please ensure that all sources of information and references are included.
Abstract Submission Themes and Tracks
The submitting author is required to choose a suitable track with a corresponding theme that most accurately aligns with the content of the abstract. The NCCM 2024 Scientific Committee welcomes submissions across various areas of cancer. It should be noted that the NCCM 2024 Scientific Committee reserves the right to re-categorise an abstract if deemed necessary.

Submission Track:
Consider carefully the theme and track prior to submission of the abstract.The NCCM 2024 Scientific Committee reserves the right to re-categorise an abstract.
Submission Fee:
There will be no submission fee for submitting an abstract. However, upon receiving the letter of acceptance, participants will have to complete the registration and pay the registration fees for successful registration.
Notifications, Changes & Withdrawals
- Following the abstract(s) submission deadline, NO resubmission and editing will be allowed. If the first author wishes to withdraw the abstract(s) from presentation, a written request must be submitted via email (please email [email protected] and [email protected]) by the withdrawal deadline (10 June 2024, 11.59PM MYT).
- The first author is required to submit the abstract before the deadline as submissions will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.
- The number of accepted abstracts is limited to 150 only.
Abstract Selection
- All submitted abstracts will be screened before approval for presentation at NCCM 2024 and for publication in the NCCM 2024 proceedings.
- The first author will receive a letter of acceptance via email from the committee regarding its decision on the abstract within 14 days of the submission. It is the first author’s responsibility to notify all involved parties of this decision.
- The first author can proceed to register within 30 days of receiving the letter of acceptance from the NCCM 2024 Scientific Committee.
- Interested participants are welcome to register as participants without any requirement to wait for confirmation of acceptance of their submitted abstracts. Upon acceptance, their status will then be changed to Presenter.
- In the case that the first author does not register within 30 days of receiving the letter of acceptance, the letter of acceptance will be cancelled with immediate effect.
Type of presentation
Selected abstracts will be presented during rapid-fire oral presentation sessions. Each rapid-fire oral presentation will last a total of 5 minutes, divided into a 3-minute presentation section and a 2-minute Q&A section. A maximum of 5 slides can be used for the presentation.
The first author is responsible for ensuring that there are no conflicts of interest among involved parties before submitting an abstract. He or she must also obtain disclosure information from all co-authors and ensure that all co-authors meet the definition of authorship as stated by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.
1) MERIT AWARDS
- All non-student category submissions are automatically evaluated for a Merit Award.
- A total of 16 Merit Awards will be awarded to the top-ranked high-impact abstracts.
- Merit Award recipients are honored with a trophy plaque, Certificate of Merit, and waived registration fees.
- Award recipients will be announced on the last day of the conference.
- Award recipients will be screened and selected thoroughly by the Scientific Committee of NCCM 2024, and the committee’s decision is final.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for a Merit Award:
- Be the first author on the abstract submission.
- Abstract must be presented during the conference.
2) STUDENT MERIT AWARDS
- All student category submissions are automatically evaluated for a Student Merit Award.
- A total of 4 Student Merit Awards will be awarded to the top-ranked high-impact abstracts submitted within the student category.
- Award recipients are honored with a trophy plaque, Certificate of Merit and waived registration fees.
- Award recipients will be announced on the last day of the conference.
- Award recipients will be screened and selected thoroughly by the Scientific Committee of NCCM 2024, and the committee’s decision is final.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for a Student Merit Award:
- Be the first author on the abstract submission.
- Abstract must be presented during the conference.
- Must be a registered student with a registered educational institution
On behalf of all involved parties associated with the abstract, the First Author agrees to the following Prior Presentation/Publication Policy and Confidentiality Policy before submitting an abstract. The first author will be held accountable for any policy violations of the abstract and is responsible for informing all parties involved about the policies and adhering to them.
Prior Presentation/Publication Abstract Submission Policy
Conference
The contents and conclusions of the abstract cannot be published or presented at any scientific, medical, or educational gathering before the NCCM 2024 conference. As the novelty of the data is considered during the abstract selection process, authors are strongly encouraged to include updated data. Once an abstract has been formally submitted, it cannot be amended, revised, or resubmitted.
Publication:
The contents and conclusions of the abstract cannot be published in any medical, scientific, or educational publication (in whole or in part) before the abstract is made publicly available through the NCCM 2024 proceedings. Pre-prints are allowed before abstract submission.
Any breach of these policies may result in the rejection or removal of the abstract from NCCM 2024.
Confidentiality Policy
Once an abstract is submitted to NCCM 2024, the abstract and relevant data are confidential. Authors involved are responsible for not publishing or distributing the content or relevant data to any individual who could potentially make it public prior to presentation and proceeding publication. The confidentiality policy will no longer be in effect once the NCCM 2024 proceedings are published, and authors may use it publicly thereafter. Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy
The Scientific Committee of NCCM 2024 firmly states that the use of generative AI technologies (such as ChatGPT) in the production of abstract(s) is not permitted. AI-generated submissions will be rejected.
